MLB, in a statement announcing its decision, cited a lack of evidence.

Puig’s case is one of three domestic violence-related investigations baseball has opened this offseason.

Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman was suspended 30 games for his role in an October domestic dispute. Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes was placed on paid leave for an October incident with his wife in Hawaii. His punishment is pending a resolution of his legal case.
