Chase Elliott, who will replace Jeff Gordon next season in the Sprint Cup Series, was the first off pit road under caution with 32 laps remaining and held off Busch for his fourth victory of his Xfinity career. The victory snapped a 39-race winless streak for Elliott.

“I don’t think we changed a lot in how we ran the race,” Elliott told NBC Sports. “I mean we always want to come and give it our best shot to win. Ernie (Cope, crew chief) brought a great car. This means so much to me.”

Brian Scott finished third followed by Joey Logano and Erik Jones.

The race got off to a exciting start with a big pileup in Turn 1 on the first lap of the race. Benny Gordon, Joey Gase, Carl Long, John Wes Townly, David Starr and Jimmy Weller all were involved in a wreck.

Starr was able to get away relatively unscathed but would bring out the caution just laps later after tearing up his right front in a crash in Turn 3.

With the win, Elliott jumped Ty Dillon for second in the Xfinity Series points standings and now trails leader Chris Buescher by 21 points. Although he finished 10th, Buescher was pleased with the race.

“That is what we needed to do, get a top-10 run,” he told NBC Sports. “We kept up pretty good with the points and we will go on to the next one.”
