In the most recent trailer released by Nintendo, the entire cast of playable characters are showcased as well as some gameplay footage. For older fans of the series, there’s nothing really new that can be gleaned from this trailer, but for newer fans who likely only know about this game through Super Smash Bros., there’s definitely a lot to unpack with this trailer.

All seven playable characters from the original game will be making a triumphant return in an updated new art style. Though the designs of the character models have made a significant change, the world of the original game still retains the same essence within the definitive edition.

Despite a lot of the mechanics that were featured in the 3DS version of the game being removed from the definitive edition, this game looks to impress anyone and everyone who purchases it. After being announced back in September of last year, the wait is almost over.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition releases on May 29th, 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.
