As previously mentioned, the Series X has been in development for many years. In that time, numerous facets regarding the console’s specs and overall design have been outlined to mainstream consumers, such as why the Series X’s stand can’t be removed. Though, it’s fair to say that no matter how much the developers show the console off, it does not compare to how outside users experience the console hands on.

The console was given to various online gaming news outlets so that game journalists could give consumers an idea of what to expect from the Series X. Many of the publications highlighted the Series X’s incredibly fast load times, which were a key selling point shown over the course of the last several months. Though, there was one curious consistency that a couple of the testers outlined as well.

One thing that a couple of the testers noticed was how quiet the Series X is. Even while playing games like Red Dead Redemption 2, which require a lot of processing power to play, the Series X is practically silent. With Ryan McCaffrey from IGN saying that the console’s “almost inaudible while it’s idle.” This should certainly come as a big relief to many Xbox fans.

Back when the console first released, the Xbox One had numerous complications at launch, one of which being how much noise the console made while running. In fact, some Xbox One consoles were louder than others, forcing Microsoft to replace numerous units with new ones. Though, if the hands-on previews are to be believed, it doesn’t seem like that problem will exist with the Xbox Series X.

However, admittedly, a lot can happen during a console’s lifespan. As technology continues to evolve and get better and better, it’s possible that some next-gen games will require a lot of processing power, which could mean the Series X might get noisier as a result. Especially with games developed with Unreal Engine 5 being much larger in terms of file sizes.

The Xbox Series X is set to launch on November 12th, 2020.
