It used to be the case that Xbox owners would only see flagship titles warrant special edition accessories, but those times are changing. The Xbox One hasn’t even been on store shelves for a year, and has already seen Titanfall-branded accessories, with rumors of a Sunset Overdrive-branded console circling as well. But where those versions go for a brighter look, camo fans now have a line to call their own.
Microsoft’s Major Nelson made the announcement, with some images and details on the Armed Forces package:

While the pair won’t release until October, prospective buyers can pre-order both the controller and the headset now. Thankfully, the ‘special edition’ accessories won’t have owners breaking the bank, with the Armed Forces Wireless Controller costing just $5 USD more than the standard version ($64.99 as opposed to $59.99), and the Stereo Headset just $10 more ($89.99 as opposed to $79.99).
Whether that price or the design is enough to make it a hot seller come Holiday season 2014 remains to be seen. But with a new Call of Duty on the way, there is always a market.
Keep an eye out for the Xbox One Special Edition Armed Forces Wireless Controller and Stereo Headset when they go on sale later this year.
